Bartender Position
POSITION SUMMARY: The bartender is responsible for making, mixing, pouring and/or creating alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages for the guests of the bar and restaurant. The bartender is successful in working in a fast-paced environment and always goes the extra mile to keep guests happy, consistently providing guests with the highest quality of service. The bartender reports directly to the Guest Experience Manager & Assistant General Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Present menu, answer questions, and make suggestions to guests as necessary
- Take drink (and sometimes food) orders from guests seated at the bar or from servers
- Input orders into the POS system
- Prepare guests drinks as ordered
- Slice fruit for garnishing drinks
- Clean bar and arrange glasses for an attractive bar display
- Prepare bill and accept payment from guests
- Open and maintain proper tabs for guests throughout the shift
- Clear or reset the bar after each guest leaves
- Record and balance receipts and prepare proper cash drawer deposits at the end of each shift
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EDUCATION:
- Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with customers and co-workers
- Possess the ethics and positive attitude that support our values and culture
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize
- Valid certification for serving alcohol
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Minimum of 2 years' experience
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS/OTHER:
- Must have the ability/stamina to work a minimum of 20 hours a week
- Ability to stand/walk for 8-10 hours per day
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, and stand
- Must be able to tolerate higher levels of noise from music and customer traffic
