Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP-C or NP-BC)

Occupational Medicine Provider: Torrance, CA

PAY RANGE: $160,000-$180,000 PER YEAR

What You’ll Do

• Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage work-related injuries and illnesses, including workers’ compensation cases.
• Develop conservative, evidence-based treatment plans that support safe recovery, functional restoration, and emphasize stay at work/return to work recommendations whenever medically safe and appropriate.
• Maintain high-touch communication with injured workers, employers, client representatives, and the CAREonsite clinical team throughout the course of care.
• Utilize established clinical protocols, client-specific requirements, referral pathways, and escalation procedures.
• Provide in-person and telemedicine care in collaboration with onsite staff, utilizing CAREonsite’s clinical protocols, conservative treatment approach, and expectations for timely injured-worker and client communication.
• Perform therapeutic and minor surgical procedures, including suturing, injections, immunizations, burn care, and removal of subcutaneous and uncomplicated ocular foreign bodies, consistent with scope of practice and clinical protocols.
• Conduct Commercial Driver Medical (DOT) examinations, pre-employment physicals, fit-for-duty and return-to-work evaluations, and other job-related medical assessments.
• Support occupational health and medical surveillance services, which may include respirator clearances, hearing conservation, and exposure-related evaluations.
• Document timely, accurate, and thorough clinical information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Serve as a clinical leader who promotes quality, consistency, safety, and excellent patient experience.

What We’re Looking For

• 3 years of clinical experience in occupational medicine, emergency medicine, or urgent care preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and procedural skills, including experience managing both lower-acuity and more complex presentations.
• Ability to practice independently within scope of licensure while recognizing when collaboration, consultation, or escalation is appropriate.
• Excellent bedside manner and strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Organized, dependable team player, committed to exceptional service and patient care of the highest quality.

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current, unrestricted PA or NP license in the applicable state.
• Applicable board certification
• Current BLS (CPR/AED) certification; ACLS certification is also accepted.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in occupational medicine and workers’ compensation injury management.
• FMCSA National Registry Certified Medical Examiner credential, or willingness to obtain this certification within the required onboarding period.
• Experience with OSHA-regulated medical surveillance programs, pre-placement examinations, and fitness-for-duty evaluations.
• Strong communication skills and an understanding that occupational medicine requires timely coordination with injured workers, employers, clients, and internal clinical leadership.
