Registered Nurse – CVOR (Cardiac/Thoracic)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Shift times: 6:40–19:10 or 9:40–22:10 (biweekly rotation) | Weekday and Weekend Call Required | 17–21 Week Assignments

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a cardiac/thoracic operating room environment
• Assist with complex cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures including CABG, valve repairs, LVAD implantation, ECMO, and thoracic surgeries
• Support robotic-assisted surgical procedures including those utilizing the Da Vinci Xi system
• Participate in lobectomy, VATS, and lung resection cases as needed
• Float to other units as required based on staffing and patient care needs
• Participate in weekday and weekend on-call rotation

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BLS certification required – American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Minimum of two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the CVOR specialty
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
• Must pass a telemetry/cardiac rhythm interpretation exam prior to start (passing score of 80% or higher; 100% identification of lethal rhythms required on adult exam)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Strong proficiency in cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures including ascending aortic repairs, mitral valve surgery, and ECMO
• Experience with robotic-assisted thoracic surgery (Da Vinci Xi) and VATS procedures
• Familiarity with LVAD implantation and management in the surgical setting
