Overview Security Supervisor Location: Mercy Hospital - A Member of Catholic Health Join Mercy Hospital , part of the Catholic Health system, and play a vital role in leadership ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, physicians, and staff. Job Details Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily security operations, ensuring effective coverage of all hospital buildings, grounds, and parking areas
- Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate security personnel
- Respond to and lead investigations of security incidents, emergencies, and critical events
- Develop, implement, and enforce security policies and procedures in compliance with hospital, state, and regulatory standards
- Coordinate emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response efforts (including fire safety and disaster response)
- Collaborate with hospital leadership, clinical teams, and local law enforcement agencies to maintain a safe environment
- Manage access control systems, surveillance equipment, and security technologies
- Prepare and review detailed incident reports and maintain accurate security documentation
- Identify risks and recommend proactive security improvements
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- NYS Security Guard License required; supervisory certification preferred
- Valid NYS Driver's License required
- BLS & AED Certification required
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive security experience, including supervisory experience (hospital or healthcare setting strongly preferred)
- Knowledge of healthcare security regulations, emergency management, and safety compliance standards
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
