Senior Director, Category Management and Procurement - API and Third Party Manufacturing
AbbVie
Global leadership position directing category management and procurement strategy for third-party manufacturing and API spend. Accountable for end-to-end portfolio execution, team leadership, and transformation initiatives across enterprise procurement operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute global category strategies aligned with business priorities and TPM roadmap
- Lead category management plans delivering measurable value, synergies, and operational efficiency
- Manage P&L accountability including budget oversight and financial performance tracking
- Lead and develop global team of category managers with focus on capability building
- Act as trusted advisor to TPM leadership and cross-functional stakeholders on procurement strategy
Requirements
- 12+ years strategic sourcing and procurement experience
- 5+ years pharmaceutical or life sciences industry experience preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in third-party manufacturing procurement
- Proven experience leading teams and complex category portfolios
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant MS/PhD strongly preferred
- Proficiency with procurement systems (Coupa, SAP, Ariba)
- Understanding of global procurement best practices and contract law
