Quality Assurance Technician We are Faber-Castell Cosmetics, a division of Faber-Castell (you know us for our pencils and pens). We have taken our expertise to the cosmetic industry. We are one of the leading providers of private label cosmetic pencils (face, eye, lip, and nail). We are almost 800 employees worldwide with production facilities in Germany and Brazil. Our clients are well known brands in cosmetics, we have a state‑of‑the‑art facilities, process, and knowledge here in Elgin, IL. In this role you will keep us compliant with the quality standards required by our customers. Your attention to detail will be valued as you take samples and check incoming goods, raw materials, work‑in‑process, and finished goods. Your meticulous nature is key in maintaining our documentation. Not only will you report any non‑compliance, you will be part of the team to determine the root cause and assist where needed to correct. Working in a clean‑room environment you will be responsible for sanitation checks of equipment and air quality. Responsibilities Gather samples of incoming goods and raw materials, working in progress and finished products Perform quality checks on incoming goods and raw materials, working in progress and finished products Inspect finished products to ensure consistency and quality Perform quality checks during production and assist with batch production records Monitor plant sanitation checks (equipment swabs, environmental/air sampling, etc.) Work with production team and ensure production processes and parameters meet required specifications Maintain proper documentation as required Maintain a clean and safe working environment Report any process errors, product failures, or deviations to supervisors Participate in root cause analysis Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment Other duties as requested Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Safety – Zero unsafe acts and conditions 5S Compliance Defects – less than xx PPM Qualifications Associate's Degree or equivalent experience Understanding of GMP (general manufacturing practices) as it relates to FDA practices 2+ years of conducting quality audits Experience working in a manufacturing environment for cosmetics or food an plus Can regularly lift, push, or move up to 30 pounds Can regularly climb a ladder or steps Able to work independently and in a team environment Self‑starter who can work independently High attention to detail Able to work in a fast‑paced, changing environment Strong interpersonal and communication skills Strong organizational skills Able to follow written processes Intermediate knowledge of MS Office applications Knowledge of SAP an plus Able to occasionally work weekends, holidays, and evenings Benefits In return you will receive competitive pay and full benefits. #J-18808-Ljbffr A W Faber Castell Cosmetics, LLC
