QA Analyst I

We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As a QA Analyst, I support our QC, Analysis and Test Service Team. You will be trusted to provide in-process and final product quality analyses/inspection in compliance with standards and regulatory requirements at Houston, Texas in US. Typical day / Responsibilities Interpret and evaluate the analyses in terms of accuracy and precision compared against established specifications. Identify ongoing quality issues, prevent potential production issues, and make suggestions for improvement. Use various measuring devices, testing equipment, predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to accept or reject products. May work from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists. Support laboratory team and daily microbiology laboratory operations, including lab organization/cleaning, routine equipment maintenance, supply inventory, media growth promotion, etc. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs) Ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English Work hours: Monday through Friday / 8:00am - 5:00pm Travel Requirements: 0 to 10% Relocation assistance: No Sponsorship available: No Preferred Requirements Two (2) years applicable experience in the pharmaceutical field or related industry, preferably as part of a Quality Control Microbiology group. Proven excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, communication skills. Ability to perform effectively in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. Experience with laboratory requirements and equipment. Bachelor's Degree in Science (Microbiology, Biological Sciences). Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.). Experience with Aseptic Technique, Bioburden Testing, Environmental Monitoring, Endotoxin Testing, and Gram and Fungal Stain. Experience with Biolog Microorganism Identification System, Report Writing, Deviation Management. Equipment Qualification and Standard Operating Procedure writing.
