digitalLIFT seeks contract Digital Literacy Coordinator (up to 15 hours a week, pay rate $30 per hour) to coordinate community digital literacy programming and deliver basic digital literacy training and tech support to older adults in person in East Bay, California.

digitalLIFT is a nonprofit organization founded in 2007. We believe that access to the Internet is a human right and that those without the skills to use a computer are at risk of social and economic disadvantage. We provide digital skills training while helping our learners acquire home internet and a device. The heart of digitalLIFT is our instructors who train individuals and communities and help them live better lives by staying connected and having access to more information and opportunities.

You will be the point person ensuring training sessions run smoothly at partner sites - managing logistics, materials, community relationships while also stepping in to teach and support learners directly. It's a great fit for someone who enjoys both the organizational side of running a program and the satisfaction of teaching.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Program & Service Delivery Coordination

• Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and day-to-day operations for training sessions at partner sites
• Perform site visits to ensure proper class set-up and that locations are ready for each session
• Configure devices according to set-up guidelines and prepare training materials and documents for instructors and learners
• Serve as the main point of contact for partner sites, ensuring compliance with project requirements
• Identify and troubleshoot issues on the ground, escalating to the Program Manager as needed

2. Deliver Digital Literacy Training

• Provide digital literacy training to adults in-person at partner sites in East Bay, California and remotely if needed
• Follow an established curriculum to provide 1-on-1 or group training to help adults develop skills to safely and confidently use technology
• Adjust curriculum to address identified needs within a student cohort

3. Community Outreach Support and Public Relations

• Act as digitalLIFT representative and liaison within digitalLIFT learner communities
• Survey community members to understand needs, interest and availability to participate in the program
• Communicate class schedule and send reminders to assure participants attendance
• Contribute content to the digitalLIFT website and monthly e-newsletter

4. Data Management & Reporting

• Ensure that all setup / follow-up and instruction hours are reported for each session
• Complete and document online assessment of individuals to determine computer skills and training needs
• Collect and report additional data about programs, services, and volunteers, as needed by digitalLIFT

To flourish in this role, you need:

• Verbal and written fluency in English and Cantonese
• Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple moving pieces across sites
• Teaching and communication skills
• Working knowledge of Google Suite (Calendar, Meets, Docs, Sheets, etc.) and other communication and collaboration tools (Zoom, Dropbox, etc.)
• Comfortable with learning new skills, tools and processes
• Experience operating mobile devices including smartphones, tablets, laptops
• Ability to work flexible hours
