Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Intermediate Care/Step Down unit requiring recent specialty experience and ACLS certification.
Details
- Work in the Pulmonary Thoracic Intermediate Care/Step Down unit
- Care for intermediate medical patients including high risk respiratory, cardiac thoracic surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, and head/neck surgery cases
- Patient population may require respiratory support ranging from room air to BIPAP or Optiflow
- 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week, with varying start times around 7pm-7am
- No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in the specialty required
Additional Information
- Provide intermediate/step-down level nursing care across a variety of complex patient populations
- Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve)
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for consideration
- Previous staff returning as travelers must have a 2-year break since their last assignment
- RTO must be requested upfront prior to offer and cannot be requested afterward
