Perry, NY, USA - Part time - R26_0000019479 Counter Sales Associate – NAPA family. You are the "face of the retail store" and the go‑to person for customers who enter our NAPA stores for all automotive needs. You do not need to tear vehicles apart, but background knowledge of automotive parts is required. This position is ideal for anyone looking to grow within NAPA, whether full‑time, part‑time, or seeking other career paths. Key Responsibilities Provide auto parts answers and solutions for retail and wholesale customers in person at the counter or over the phone. Use parts knowledge to assist team members in answering customer questions. Deliver outstanding customer care and interactions with all store visitors. Bring customer focus and high energy to our fast‑paced stores. Welcome retail customers into the store and engage to provide a positive experience. Use technology (computer), cash register, telephone, and paper catalog system. Qualifications Valid Driver's License. Previous experience in a parts store or automotive industry, or willingness to learn all things auto parts. High School Diploma or GED (technical or trade school courses or degree a plus). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Love fast‑paced retail environments. Great listening skills and empathy for customers. Preferred Experience Background or passion for automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership. Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, auto body/collision. Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems. Entirely customer‑centric (external/internal). ASE certifications. Benefits & Compensation Starting hourly rate of $17.75 with pay progression; top end reached within 12 months of hire.
