Description Summary


Morton College is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual for a project-based Human Resources Internship. This opportunity is ideal for individuals looking to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in HR through focused work on real-world projects. Interns will contribute to initiatives that improve internal processes, support employee development, and enhance organizational effectiveness within a higher education setting. This role is open to both students and non-students.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Work on HR-focused projects such as:
  • Onboarding and orientation improvements
  • Employee handbook and policy updates
  • Staff training and development programs
  • HR process documentation and workflows
• Conduct research, benchmarking, and data analysis to support project goals.
• Create project reports, timelines, and presentations for HR leadership.
• Collaborate with college departments to gather insights and feedback.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all HR-related matters.

Qualifications

• Interest in Human Resources, organizational development, or public sector work.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to take initiative and manage project tasks independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Previous exposure to HR or administrative environments is helpful but not required.
