About The Role
The Dining Room Supervisor is responsible for being the primary Food and Beverage contact until management arrives. Verifies schedules, checks deliveries and carries the Food and Beverage cell phone. Provides coverage for any area/server station in the absence of scheduled dining room staff.
Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Dining Room Supervisor:
- In the absence of the Dining Room Manager, supervises the physical appearance of the dining room area and server stations including table pedestals, table place settings, chairs, floors, drapes, and lighting
- Coordinates the seating of the residents and guests in an efficient, courteous manner.
- Schedules stations and work assignments for the wait staff and check out servers to make sure standards are met.
- Holds staff accountable for following rules and procedures.
- Records meal counts, reservations and additional charges. Complete knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Confers with Dining Room Manager regarding dining room status.
- Confers with the Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage regarding any food, staffing or service issues.
- Makes morning rounds of Dining room, server stations, kitchen and checks staff levels.
- Provides coffee service for Residents' events and Administration.
- Carries Food and Beverage cell phone for call-outs.
- Cross trained on dietary aides.
- Reports damage on broken equipment to Food & Beverage Director.
- Participates in cost control measures.
- Waits tables and provides beverage and bar services as needed.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications We Need You To Have
- High School diploma/GED required.
- A minimum of one year Host/Hostess or Lead Server experience within fine restaurant, club, hotel, or similar institution.
- Available 7 days a week with a primary schedule of 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM
- Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests.
- Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with, and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors and subordinates.
- State applicable health and/or alcohol compliance card required.
Physical requirements/Working Conditions;
Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time. Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the work day; ability to stoop.bend and stretch frequently; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Must be able to see, hear, and speak.

Salary: From $17.50 per hour
