Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Step Down (Intermediate Care) position at a short-term acute care hospital, requiring telemetry/cardiac experience and an Indiana or compact RN license.

Details

• Step Down / Intermediate Care unit (7th Floor) at a short-term acute care hospital
• Cardiac and stroke patient population, including renal patients requiring hemodialysis (performed by an outside company)
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Cardiac drip experience required; drips include Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Lasix
• All modes of oxygenation except mechanical ventilation
• Charting in Cerner
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• Floating within scope to like or lesser units as needed

Requirements

• Active Indiana or compact RN license (pending license accepted, but must be active prior to start date)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required (2 years preferred)
• Telemetry and cardiac/stroke experience required
• Cardiac drip experience required
• Must pass a telemetry rhythm identification quiz — proficiency in reading, identifying, and reacting to cardiac rhythms is required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Royal blue or white scrubs required
• Parking is available at no cost in outside lots and overnight in garages; garage day parking is $9/day
• All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
