Tool & Die Maker - Journeyman 2nd Shift Monday-Friday (3:30 pm - 12:00 midnight) Hourly Wage Rate $36.84 + $0.60 shift premium Who we are looking for: We are currently looking for a Tool & Die Maker to be based out of Wayne, MI. 2nd shift position for a candidate with experience. The Hourly wage rate for those holding a Journeyman card is $36.84. Reporting to the Tool & Die Manager, this person will be responsible for making and maintaining all types of tools, dies, and fixtures. What you'll do: Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Diagnose and troubleshoot machine assemblies to perform necessary repairs on tools, manually-operated dies, and progressive dies Ensure accuracy of work performed by conducting test runs on tools and/or dies to ensure all components meet specifications Ability to make adjustments to work performed when needed Ability to independently select the proper metals and materials to meet project specifications Set up and operate both conventional and CNC machine tools Interface with internal and external customers to ensure demands are being met Responsible for the accurate completion of all paperwork, transactions, tags, etc. Adhere to all Life Saving Rules, including: Lock-Out, Tag-Out (LOTO), Machine Guarding/Bypassing Safety Controls, and Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) safety protocols Ensure Safety, Delivery, Quality, and Cost metrics are met daily Support 5S initiatives in assigned work areas Other job duties as assigned What you'll bring: High School Diploma/GED Experience using CAD and CNC software preferred 1 - 3 years of manufacturing experience preferred 3 - 5 years experience in Tool & Die making required; Journeyman cardholder status required Basic math and verbal skills Excellent technical skills, to include the ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot mechanical issues Ability to learn to use and maintain equipment and machinery Flexibility of shift scheduling, to include overtime and weekends Demonstrate Atkore Core Values - Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence Within 3 months, you'll: Follow standard work processes and operate with a continuous improvement mindset Lead, assist, and/or instruct employees in the performance of their duties, as requested Possess a positive attitude, be a team player, and have strong work ethic Who we are: Atkore is a six-time Great Place to Work certified company and a four-time Top Workplaces USA award winner!
