This role is ideal for an individual with experience in government contracting, accounting, finance, or regulatory compliance who is looking to further develop their expertise in a dynamic and collaborative environment.The successful candidate will build knowledge of government regulatory requirements, financial compliance practices, and company policies while partnering with experienced cross-functional teams to support business operations and strategic objectives. Success in this role comes from curiosity, adaptability, and strong problem-solving skills. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure company compliance with applicable government regulations, including Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Parts 30, 31, and 32, and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) requirements related to cost allowability, allocability, and financial practices. Provide guidance and support regarding compliance with government rules, regulations, and oversight requirements. Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting and financial policies, procedures, and practices that support business objectives while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Serve as a liaison with the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA). Prepare responses related to DCAA/DCMA audit inquiries, data requests, and reports. Participate in month-end and year-end financial close activities. Review and evaluate accounting transactions and entries for compliance with applicable regulations, company policies, and contractual requirements. Analyze accounting treatments while considering broader business and operational objectives to ensure accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance. Provide accounting, financial analysis, cost accounting and/or budgeting support for assigned P&L organizations, programs and projects. Assist in developing and documenting supportable company positions related to accounting practices, estimating practices, and applicable regulatory compliance requirements. Identify financial or compliance issues, recommend corrective actions, and support implementation of process improvements to resolve identified issues. Support administration and analysis of Facilities Cost of Ownership, as required. Support administration and analysis of ASI company-wide Incentive Compensation Plan (ICP - Bonus), as required. Develop recommendations based on financial and operational analyses, identifying opportunities to enhance reporting and improve business processes utilizing SAP ERP and Power BI tools. Collaborate with management, customers and cross-functional teams regarding projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and contractualor financial matters. May prepare and present financial analyses, briefings, and updates to internal and external stakeholders. Manage high volumes of financial data including data modeling and trend analysis. Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information. Performs other duties as assigned or required. Job Qualifications Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting and/or finance, and at least six years of professional experience in accounting, finance, or similar fields, preferably at a government contractor. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education. Must have an understanding of industry and government cost accounting principles, theories and concepts and knowledge of cost accounting practices, techniques, and standards. Aerospace/Defense manufacturing experience preferred but not required. Must have ability to research regulatory compliance matters, including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Agency supplements, as well as Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). Must possess leadership skills including organizing, scheduling, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effective presentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all levels of employees and external customers. Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office suite; SAP knowledge preferred but not required).
