Job Summary

The Store Associate assists customers throughout their shopping experience while supporting sales, inventory management, technical services, and daily store operations. This role contributes to a welcoming, clean, safe, and well-organized retail environment through knowledgeable product guidance, accurate transactions, merchandising support, and dependable teamwork.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet and engage customers in a friendly, professional manner.
• Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
• Advise customers about sales, promotions, and warranties.
• Apply upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities.
• Operate cash registers and process customer payments accurately.
• Load, unload, arrange, and restock products for customer purchases.
• Build displays and assist with setting up and taking down fixtures and shelves.
• Install batteries, perform testing, and assist with light technical work, battery rebuilds, and other trained technical services.
• Clean and restock the store before opening, throughout the day, and after closing.
• Maintain store safety and appearance, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and restroom cleaning.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations and wear required personal protective equipment.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

The physical demands required to perform the essential responsibilities of this position are as follows. Reasonable accommodations, if necessary and/or as required by law, will be made available.

● This position regularly requires frequent talking, hearing, standing, walking, use of hands, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Occasional tasks may include sitting, kneeling, crouching, or reaching overhead.

● Store associates are required to regularly use electrical cables, hand tools, a magnifying glass, spot welders, automotive and electronic testing equipment, as well as regular use of a phone, computer, printer, and copier.

● While performing the responsibilities of this position, the associate may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and the risk of electrical shock.

● Protective clothing and/or equipment used in this position includes goggles, gloves, and steel-toed shoes.
