Material Planner

Material PlannerMaterial Planners are tasked to work on a variety of different components that vary from location to location. Activities include, but are not limited to, reviewing BOM's, coordinating and supporting daily counts, communicating daily critical parts to purchasing, converting planned orders into production orders, covering line planners when needed, walking the lines and identifying parts that can be returned and assisting production with correcting inventory so they can return excess materials, monitoring picks, Kanban racks, and negatives.Below are examples of the type of duties you could be responsible for:Create, enter, and manage daily production picks.Review BOMs to ensure material availability for production.Pull the schedule and run the PIK's based off the schedule utilizing PLR 100 in AS400Send daily critical parts reports to purchasing.Email PIK to material coordinator to print and distribute to the team.Enter any MSR and/or CCR for product issues on your line/lines.Identifying and reporting issues with the TRS Reporting structureAssist with entering non-conforming tags, scrap tags, and RTWHelp locate missing material on their line/lines.Verify inventory levels and ensure accuracy across warehouse and production locations.Investigate and resolve negative inventory issues.Perform daily soft counts and correct inventory discrepancies.Walk production lines to identify excess materials and assist with inventory corrections and material returns.Convert released planned orders for production.Monitor fab planner by closing, deleting, or releasing planned ordersAddress material shortages by coordinating with production, purchasing, planners, and other appropriate departments.Coordinate regularly with production coordinators, supervisors, planners, and purchasing teams.Maintain knowledge of warehouse functions within AS400.Understand controlled storage and outside storage locations.Utilize knowledge of line locations and material drop areas.Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills.Be willing to work overtime and in adverse weather conditions as needed.Handle additional tasks and responsibilities as they arise throughout the day.Below is a list of examples of the potential tools and equipment you may find yourself working with depending upon your department and location. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen. Must be able to pass PIV (power industrial vehicle) training. Basic reading, writing, math, & verbal skills. Basic computer knowledge. Must have both written and verbal (give instructions) communication skills. Good people skills required. Must have the ability to learn and run required computer applications. Possess required math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Must have the ability to understand and apply engineering specifications, Change Orders, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Good problem-solving skills required.Experience and education are a plus; however, it's not required. Wabash provides training for all material handler positions. Upon receiving a letter from us, you'll undergo orientation and several days of training, preparing you for the production floor.
