Position Overview:

Search Solution Group is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to join a healthcare team supporting patients through scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and general access-to-care needs. This role serves as a key point of contact for patients, helping ensure a smooth experience from initial scheduling through appointment completion and payment processing.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle inbound patient calls and assist with appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations

Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and benefit information

Register patients and update electronic health records with accurate information

Ensure medical necessity and insurance compliance requirements are met

Answer patient questions related to appointments, registration, and general access needs

Process and post payments accurately when needed

Document patient interactions and maintain detailed records within healthcare systems

Partner with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely access to care

Provide a positive patient experience through professional and empathetic communication

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a healthcare call center, patient access, medical scheduling, registration, or customer service role

Experience handling high-volume inbound calls in a professional environment

Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Ability to navigate multiple systems while assisting patients

Experience with insurance verification, eligibility checks, or patient registration preferred

Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.) is a plus

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
