Power Delivery Project Manager

Project Manager ILeidos Engineering has an opportunity for a Project Manager I (PM I) who will work alongside lead engineers and account managers supporting substation engineering projects for various electric utility clients throughout the Northern United States. The PM will be part of an established team within our Power Delivery Solutions (PDS) division. PDS provides consulting services to public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities for comprehensive engineering design of electrical transmission, substation, and distribution projects nationwide.This position supports a hybrid work environment, with an expectation of regular in-office collaboration with engineering and project management teams. This role can be performed from Walled Lake MI, Pittsburgh PA or Chicago IL, depending on the location of the selected candidate.As a valued team member, you can look forward to a fast paced, diverse work environment and flexible work arrangements, as well as managers who will encourage career development and growth opportunities, including:Project Management Professional (PMP)Leadership trainingFormal Mentorship programsManagement opportunitiesLearning & Development ResourcesPrimary Responsibilities:Independently lead project teams to complete engineering designs of various sized electric infrastructure projects for electric utilitiesAccept responsibility for overall project performance and reportingManage project costs, schedule and scope within approved limits, including the development of recovery plans when neededEnsure contract complianceDrive work products by coordinating and working with Engineering Leads and Managers to track and execute client deliverablesEnsure and document adherence to the quality control processInterface directly with the client and internal management to solve issues and report progress, costs, schedule adherence and risks across a program of projectsCommunicate with clients, internal project teams, multiple engineering disciplines, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnelPrepare bid documents; Develop cost estimates and responses to Requests for ProposalComplete monthly invoices, accruals, and accounts receivable within prescribed time framesIdentify business development opportunitiesRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or a closely related discipline is requiredA minimum of three (3) + years of relevant Project Management experienceExperience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, P6)Demonstrated experience managing and reporting project financial performance, budgets, proposals, scopes and schedulesMust have the capability to plan, organize, direct, and track technical efforts on project tasksAbility to work effectively in a team environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsMust be able to interact with customer representatives in an effective mannerExcellent organizational and problem solving skills and the ability to multi-task effectivelyExperience with MS Office Software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)Periodic travel (less than 2%); Candidates should possess a valid US driver's licenseHybrid office attendance (2-3 days in office, remaining days work from home) in one of the following offices: Walled Lake, MI; Pittsburgh PA; Chicago, ILPreferred Qualifications:PMP CertificationFamiliarity with electric power infrastructure projects and knowledge of business issues associated with power delivery servicesDemonstrated success with a team approach to the consulting businessAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelPlease Note that Sponsorship is not available for this position.At Leidos, We pride ourselves on being a trusted and technology-focused solutions provider.
