Job Details Location: CARROLLTON Employee Type: PT Shift: Educational Qualification: HS Diploma Experience: 2-3 yrs - 2 to 3 Yrs Job Description Ultrasound Tech – PRN/PT-multiple candidates WORK LOCATION: Carrollton Regional Medical Center, 4343 N Josey Lane, Carrollton, TX 75010 WORK HOURS: This position includes holiday requirements We are looking for a compassionate and skilled ultrasound technologist to be responsible for operating sonographic scanners to capture images of patients' internal organs and expectant mothers' developing fetuses. The ultrasound technologist may specialize in or work in a broad array of specialties including obstetric and gynecological ultrasounds and abdominal sonography. You may also assist radiologists with ultrasound-guided biopsies, paracentesis, and thoracentesis procedures. To be a successful ultrasound technologist, you should have excellent patient service and technical skills, as well as a strong working knowledge of anatomy and pathology. You should have strong problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills. Ultrasound Technologist Requirements The ability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment. Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and remain on your feet for long shifts. Key Success Factors Able to perform high quality multimodality procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner. Able to explain the procedure and put patients at ease. Able to provide services timely, accurately, and cost-efficient in compliance with established System and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures. Able to perform tasks autonomously without need for routine oversight. Able to stay calm and helpful during stress. Take reasonable steps to resolve issues. Able to effectively administer first aid and use emergency crash cart. Ensure customer satisfaction by limiting wait times and providing courteous service. Remain professional, review patient satisfaction scores, and develop action plans when needed. Demonstrates and maintains current knowledge, continued education, and skills appropriate for care of all age groups. Able to serve as a preceptor by providing quality training to new team members. Also, train current teams about new services and initiatives. Ultrasound Technologist Responsibilities Explaining the ultrasound procedure to patients, answering their questions, and providing support. Programming and adjusting the scanner for the specific procedure and ensuring the transducer captures images from every angle or section as needed. Deciding which still images to capture and send to the radiologist for diagnostic purposes. Evaluating the images for quality and interpreting the images to assist the physicians in diagnosing and treating diseases. Maintaining patients' records and medical notes on the ultrasound procedure they have undergone. Maintaining the ultrasound equipment and sterilizing the procedure rooms.
