Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining and repairing equipment and machinery within a manufacturing facility. The Maintenance Technician ensures production equipment operates safely and efficiently by performing mechanical and electrical work, troubleshooting issues, and completing preventive maintenance tasks on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair conveyors, extruder bearings, and other production machinery to ensure reliable operation.
• Tear down machines for inspection, repair, and component replacement as needed.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on equipment to quickly identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Perform welding on stainless steel and other metals as required for equipment repair and fabrication.
• Grease and lubricate equipment components according to maintenance standards and schedules.
• Complete preventive maintenance (PM) tasks on all assigned equipment, following established procedures and timelines.
• Accurately document all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance, in maintenance logs or systems.
• Perform electrical work, including wiring and working with 220v systems, in accordance with safety practices.
• Support continuous improvement of equipment reliability by reporting recurring issues and suggesting improvements.
• Work collaboratively with production staff to minimize downtime and maintain a safe, efficient work environment.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience maintaining equipment or machines in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work on conveyors, extruders, bearings, and other industrial machinery.
• Experience with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems on production equipment.
• Ability to perform welding on stainless steel and other metals for repair and fabrication purposes.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and the ability to follow PM schedules.
• Basic to intermediate electrical skills, including wiring and working with 220v systems.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow maintenance procedures and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to document maintenance work accurately.
• Capability to work independently during night shifts and manage multiple maintenance tasks.
• Physical ability to work in a dirty industrial environment and perform hands-on repair work.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility with a dirty, hands-on industrial environment where you work directly on production machinery and equipment. The role operates on a Monday–Friday night shift from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with frequent overtime available based on production and maintenance needs. You will work around conveyors, extruders, electrical systems, and welding equipment, and should be comfortable with physical, manual work in a busy production setting.

This is a Permanent position based out of Otsego, MN.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $38.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Otsego,MN.
