The Work Ground Software team is seeking a Level 2 Software Engineer to support the SDA portfolio, from Boulder, CO or Valley Forge, PA, on the ground product line, developing solutions for OPIR sensor-data-stream processing that enables missile-warning capabilities. In this role you will design, develop, maintain, and test the Mission Processing codebase, adapt and extend existing frameworks for new sensor interfaces, create and document robust APIs, and build mission-processing applications that meet stringent performance, latency, and reliability requirements. You will write and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests, troubleshoot issues across the software stack, and collaborate closely with systems, hardware, algorithm, and mission-operations teams to deliver high-quality features on schedule. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about their trade, with at least one year of professional software development experience and proven ability to work in high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams while maintaining a focus on system quality and timely delivery. This position is contingent upon the program award expected in June, 2026. This is an EMERGING PROFESSIONAL (level 2) ROLE where candidates typically require 1+ years of professional experience and a BS degree. Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $76,500 - $134,895. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
