Flowers Early Learning is a high-quality preschool located in Mattawan, Michigan and is currently looking for Bus Monitor in Mattawan/ Paw Paw, Michigan, serving classrooms with children ages 3-5 for next Program Year (August 2026- May 2027).

Position Summary: Assures compliance with Head Start policies and procedures, Performance Standards, Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers. Assists the Driver in providing safe transportation for authorized passengers. Reports to the assigned bus prior to the route, rides the bus during the route, completes route paperwork, assures children are buckled in correctly and safely, attends to passenger behavior and assists in ensuring a positive social climate.

Job Type:  Full-time, Program Year (August-May), Hourly, Non- Exempt

Expected Schedule:  Monday-Thursday slit shift, Tentative schedule subject to change. first half start 6:45a- 9:00a, Off from 9a-11:30a, second half 11:30a-4:45p, 32-40 Hours per week

Rate of Pay:

HS/GED/Head Start Parent: $15.50 AA or Higher: $17.08
Includes CDL Credential HS/GED $15.93 AA: $17.84 BA or Higher : $19.12

Education Requirement:

Minimum – High School Diploma, equivalent or Head Start parent with 1 year experience working with young children. Required – CDL with passenger and “s” endorsement or willing to obtain CDL with passenger and “s” endorsement within 3 years of hire and reimbursed upon completion.

Driving Requirements: 

• Commercial Driver’s License with PS endorsement must be obtained within 
• Must have a personal driving record with not more than 6 active points as determined by the Secretary of State
• Must be at least 18 years of age per licensing regulations

Other Selection Criteria: All candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and their own reliable transportation, complete a physical examination, comprehensive fingerprinted criminal background check, and pre-employment drug screen including a negative result for Amphetamines, Cannabinoids (including Marijuana/THC), Cocaine, Opiates, and Phencyclidine (PCP). Marijuana is not legal at the federal level and is prohibited in the workplace or in one's system, even if legally prescribed.
