This temporary position is with NC Dept of Ag & Consumer Services - Farmland Preservation, located at 2 West Edenton Street, Raleigh NC, Wake County.? Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $25.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).Description of Work: The primary job function of this temporary role is to review, evaluate, and approve appraisals, surveys, baseline documentation reports, environmental assessments, and land management documents required by the Agricultural Development and Farmland Preservation Trust Fund (ADFPTF) during the administration of grants for agricultural conservation easements. The position will also conduct outreach, communications, and training for conservation easement partners on the proper procedures and technical processes involved in developing these documents for a successful and ADFPTF-approved conservation easement. This position also serves as an advisor to NCDA&CS leadership on technical and programmatic farm and agricultural programs utilized by federal, state, and local program partners.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management PreferencesWorking knowledge of policies, procedures and precedents affecting program area(s)Ability to practice effective communication in oral and written form.Ability to analyze, interpret, and implement policy and procedural guidelines.Ability to learn the purpose of the program's organization including its mission, services, clients and measures of business effectiveness.Skill in organizing workflow and coordinating activities.Highly Preferred:Background in Agriculture / Farming / Environmental / or Land ManagementMinimum Education and ExperienceSome state job postings say you can qualify by an "equivalent combination of education and experience."
