RN - Day Surgery Outpatient

Contract position for an RN in Day Surgery Outpatient. Shifts will be a combination of 5:30 AM to 4 PM and 8:30 AM to 7 PM. No call required. No weekends. The unit consists of 16 beds and typically has 25 staff members. Staffing on day shift includes 1 Charge RN and up to 7 staff RNs, along with a Patient Care Technician and a Unit Clerk. Patient ratios are 2 patients per RN in Preop and up to 3 patients per RN in Phase 2 Postop. A team nursing approach is utilized in the postop area. Typical procedures include Preop for a wide variety of surgeries, including open hearts and endoscopies. The role involves Phase 2 recovery, postoperative discharge education, and discharging patients home. Candidates should be flexible, organized, and efficient with time. A team player mentality is essential. Dress code requires navy scrubs or hospital OR scrubs.
