The role provides financial planning support, analysis, reporting, and decision support for innovation-related budgets, product development projects, maintenance of business initiatives, clinical and regulatory programs, and product portfolio activities.Working within established finance processes and policies, this position partners with functional leaders and project teams to support budgeting, forecasting, resource tracking, financial analysis, and management reporting. The role is expected to identify issues, evaluate options, and make recommendations that improve transparency, execution discipline, and operating efficiency.The Manager also supports Solta's Product Development Program (PDP) Core Team model by providing project-level financial analysis, business case support, spend tracking, and forecast updates. The role works with Program Leads, Program Managers, Product Management, R&D, Regulatory, Clinical & Medical Affairs, Quality, and Supply Chain partners to help ensure project assumptions, investment needs, risks, and financial implications are clearly understood before decisions are made.The successful candidate will combine strong FP&A fundamentals with practical business partnering skills, supporting innovation leaders with timely analysis, clear reporting, and sound recommendations while operating within the scope, guidance, and priorities established by Finance and business leadership.ResponsibilitiesR&D Innovation Finance Business PartneringServe as the Finance Business Partner for R&D, Clinical & Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, and Product Management. Develop strong working relationships with functional teams and provide financial guidance to support approved priorities, operational execution, and effective resource planningProvide financial analysis and recommendations on investment proposals, headcount planning, operating expense management, and resource needs. Translate financial performance and project requirements into clear insights that support informed business decisionsPartner with innovation leaders to evaluate project needs, identify financial risks and opportunities, assess resource requirements, and support alignment between functional plans and approved financial commitmentsSupport project and portfolio financial reporting, including dashboards or trackers that summarize spend, forecast, business case assumptions, risks, and financial implications for active NPI and MOB initiativesPartner with Accounting and controllership teams as needed to support close-related analysis, accrual visibility, project cost classification, and forecast-to-actual transparency for innovation-related spendPlanning, Forecasting & Long-Range PlanningSupport planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning activities for innovation-related functions. Ensure plans are supported by clear assumptions, appropriate documentation, and alignment with approved prioritiesCoordinate forecast submissions and planning activities across R&D, Clinical & Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, and Product Management to ensure consistency, transparency, and accountability. Support leadership in understanding key assumptions, drivers, risks, and opportunities impacting future performancePrepare forward-looking analyses to support project decisions, resource planning recommendations, and portfolio prioritization analysis. Assist leadership in evaluating alternative scenarios and understanding the financial impact of key decisionsProduct Development & Core Team Finance SupportServe as the Finance representative on assigned Product Development Core Teams supporting Solta's stage-gate product development process. Partner with Program Leads and Program Managers to support financial planning, business case tracking, and visibility throughout the product development lifecycleProvide Finance input, validation, and recommendations for project budgets, business cases, stage-gate materials, and revenue, ROI, and NPV assumptions while operating within the decision rights established by the PDP Core Team governance modelValidate financial assumptions supporting product business cases, including project costs, revenue forecasts, margin expectations, ROI, NPV, launch economics, return expectations, and sensitivity scenarios. Assist teams in identifying financial trade-offs related to scope, timing, regulatory requirements, and execution risksPrepare financial analyses supporting Stage Gate Reviews, Product Strategy Reviews (PSRs), and portfolio governance discussions. Help ensure financial assumptions, risks, and implications are clearly summarized for leadership reviewMonitor project spending, investment performance, and business case assumptions throughout program execution. Escalate significant risks, opportunities, or deviations from approved plans and support development of mitigation strategies as neededProduct Portfolio & Lifecycle FinanceSupport financial management of Solta's product portfolio across both New Product Introduction (NPI) and Maintenance of Business (MOB) initiativesPartner with innovation leaders to evaluate portfolio priorities, lifecycle investments, and resource allocation needs. Support analysis of product enhancements, sustaining engineering initiatives, remediation efforts, manufacturing improvements, and compliance-related investmentsSupport evaluation of product profitability, lifecycle economics, launch investments, and portfolio value. Provide analyses that inform product enhancement, resource deployment, and lifecycle management decisionsMonitor financial performance of approved initiatives and ensure projected benefits, investment assumptions, and approved project outcomes remain visible throughout executionMedical Affairs, Regulatory & Clinical Program FinanceSupport Medical Affairs and Regulatory Affairs organizations through financial planning, investment evaluation, and financial tracking, reporting, and variance analysisProvide financial guidance related to clinical studies, post-market evidence generation, regulatory submissions, compliance initiatives, and approved medical programs. Assist business leaders in evaluating investment alternatives, funding requirements, and resource allocation needsDevelop analyses supporting clinical and regulatory investment prioritization while ensuring alignment with approved objectives, launch requirements, and portfolio prioritiesMonitor financial performance of approved programs and identify risks, opportunities, and actions required to support achievement of business objectivesQualificationsMinimum of a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. MBA or CPA preferred Minimum 6 years of progressive FP&A, business partnering, or related financial planning and analysis experienceDemonstrated experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, financial analysis, and performance management processes, strong financial modeling, business case development, and investment evaluation capabilitiesExperience partnering with business leaders and supporting decisions through data-driven analysis, excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skillsAdvanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial planning systems, ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, cross-functional environmentExperience supporting Research & Development, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Program Management, Engineering, or Innovation organizations, experience within medical device, healthcare, life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industriesThe range of starting base pay for this role is 114-157. Actual starting pay will be based on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, qualifications, education and location.
