About the role:

Responsible for creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of students with diverse learning needs in alignment with Tennessee state standards and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This role involves designing and delivering differentiated instruction, implementing specialized interventions, and utilizing accommodations and modifications to meet the unique needs of each student. The special education teacher assesses student progress, collaborates with general education teachers, support staff, administrators, and families, and ensures compliance with all district, state, and federal special education regulations. Additionally, the teacher is expected to integrate technology, utilize data-driven instruction, and foster a supportive and empowering learning environment that promotes independence and success for all students.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with a valid Tennessee teaching license.
• Endorsement in the grade/subject taught
• Governed by the Rules and Regulations of the Tennessee Code Annotated and the collective bargaining agreement.
• Must be physically and mentally able to perform the responsibilities and duties of the position.

We value honesty and transparency in our hiring process. Our salary range for teaching positions is $50,055.20 to $75,398.68, determined by verified years of experience and recognition of a Master's degree.
