Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse – New Jersey

Start Date: September 21, 2026

Location: New Jersey

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday required. Patient ratios typically 1:1 to 1:2, may vary based on unit assignment. Floating required to all ICUs, PACU, ED for ICU holding patients, and all IMC units. All time off requests must be submitted and approved before offer acceptance.

Highlights:

• Intensive cardiovascular care including post-operative open heart recovery with fresh heart cases such as CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
• Complex patient mix including ventilated patients, chest tubes and lumbar drains, chronic and acute renal failure, and advanced cardiac support devices
• Advanced critical care technology including Impella, IABP, CRRT using Prismax, Swan-Ganz monitoring, FloTrac, and temporary pacers
• Epic charting system preferred; comprehensive orientation and non-billable training modules provided
• First-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience; local candidates welcome
• Interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy

Requirements:

• Active New Jersey or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of current CVICU experience required; SICU experience may be considered with initial CVICU training
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required at time of submission
• Experience with advanced cardiac devices: Must have experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using Prismax OR experience with fresh heart cases
• Demonstrated competency in post-op open heart recovery, arterial lines, chest tubes, Swan-Ganz monitoring, FloTrac, and temporary pacers
• Previous charge experience preferred
