Propagation Specialist

Job Description: Propagation Specialist supports the entire Cultivation Department by handling day‑to‑day plant maintenance and grow‑facility cleaning within the mother, clone and veg rooms. The role is critical for ensuring proper plant care and compliance with state regulations. The Propagation Specialist operates under the direct supervision of the Propagation Manager, follows established policies and procedures, and contributes to the development of new concepts, policies, and procedures as needed. Propagation Specialists may also be cross‑trained to care for cannabis plants in other life stages such as flower and post‑harvest activities. Duties & Responsibilities Assist the cultivation team in the organization and oversight of nursery environments. Ensure maintenance of genetic mother stock and crop schedules. Work with managers to monitor and document annual crop timelines and rotations to ensure timely planting and harvests. Manage a nursery supporting 25,000 square feet of canopy space. Handle genetic mother stock of 100+ unique cultivars. Be responsible for the propagation and health of all clones and seedings (propagation, transplanting, topping/pruning, fertigation, IPM). Document and evaluate cloning and seed propagation success rates. Assist in determining cultivars to run based on yield and plant performance data. Communicate all progress to management on a weekly basis. Maintain all compliance systems. Manage supply and equipment ordering for the nursery. Responsible for plant health from propagation through vegetative growth cycle. These duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice. Required Skills & Qualifications Ability to work in a fast‑paced, changing, and challenging environment. Ability to make decisions as necessary with oversight when needed. Proficiency in Windows‑based and other software and internet navigation. Fun attitude, strong work ethic, strong attention to detail, team‑player mentality, and flexibility to accommodate scheduling expectations including weekends, evenings, and holiday shifts. Ability to work a minimum of 8 hours a day and rotating shifts, including weekends. Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds. Ability to sit, squat, bend, and kneel for extended periods and repetitively throughout a workday. Ability to stand and walk for 8 hours. All applicants must be at least 21 years of age. All applicants must pass an FBI fingerprint search and a BCI federal background search. Environmental Demands Exposure to pollen, allergens, non‑carcinogenic pesticides, dust, odors, extreme temperatures, artificial light, sun exposure, loud machines, vibrations, and water. Education & Training Requirements High school diploma or GED required; a certification, associate, or bachelor’s degree in a plant‑specific, farming, or other science‑related field is preferred but not required.
