Position Summary:

Sworn law enforcement officers perform the traditional Police Officer responsibilities in a unique, family-friendly traveling environment. Enforce the policies of and interact with Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration. You can have a positive impact every day.

We are hiring POPS Certified Police Officers with a minimum of one year as a sworn officer. Certified Police Officers from another state who have served at least one year as a sworn officer must contact KLEC to inquire about reciprocity. Tattoos and body piercings are permitted in accordance with the department policy.

Please note we are not affiliated with the Kentucky state pension retirement plan. 

Schedule: 12-hour shifts following the Philadelphia Model, that would include rotating day and night shifts. Common Schedules include using the Philadelphia model: 3 days on, 4 days off or 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days off.  The Philadelphia 12-hour schedule allows staff to have every other weekend off and work only two days every other week.
