RN Oncology

The Registered Nurse in the outpatient Hematology/Oncology setting provides professional nursing care to patients following established standards and healthcare techniques. The RN demonstrates competence in clinical judgment, assists providers in patient care and education, and actively participates as a member of the healthcare team to coordinate care for patients, families, and caregivers. This role requires at least one year of oncology nursing experience and certification or ability to obtain certification in chemotherapy administration. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications: Active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license. At least one year of oncology nursing experience. Certification in chemotherapy administration (ONS bio/chemo or fundamentals course) or ability to complete certification within two weeks of hire. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification meeting American Heart Association standards. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Ability to administer medications and utilize examination and treatment equipment. Strong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Preferred Skills & Certifications: Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines. Experience with patient education and engagement in oncology care. Special Considerations: Must be able to react calmly and effectively during emergency situations. Certification in chemotherapy administration must be current or completed promptly after hire. Scheduling: Full-time, Monday through Friday schedule. Shift hours vary between 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, typically 7:00 AM 3:30 PM or 8:30 AM 5:00 PM. #J-18808-Ljbffr
