Retail Systems Security Technician

Overview Johnson Controls International plc. is seeking an Installation and Service Technician to install, repair, and maintain inventory control and video equipment in retail store locations. Track service calls via computer, documenting serviced products, work performed, hours, and parts used. Maintain an accurate parts inventory to ensure a first‑time fix. Demonstrate and train customers on proper equipment usage. Communicate customer satisfaction, potential sales opportunities, or recurring problems to the manager. Perform other duties as needed. Qualifications Associate degree in Electronics and/or Networking or equivalent experience (military experience preferred). General knowledge of electronics and strong understanding of networking fundamentals. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Valid driver’s license. Working knowledge of MS Office and basic PC skills. Highly organized with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently. Willingness to obtain or hold a state license as required (state dependent). Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools. Ability to maintain parts inventory, place orders, and handle shipping of used parts. Physical capability to lift and move equipment and tools up to 70 lbs. Comfortable working in unusual positions, including ladders, scaffolding, ducts, crawl spaces, and aerial lifts up to 40 ft. Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and quick learning ability. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Must complete all required JCI EAS and video trainings and certifications. Ready to travel and work overtime as needed. Capability to read and interpret blueprints and scope documents. Skills to mentor and train others. Preferred Skills Networking certification. Three or more years of experience installing or servicing IP cameras and DVR/NVR systems. Adaptability to industry changes and strong work ethic. Compensation Hourly rate $33‑$44, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and market data.
