Project Manager

DataStaff, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients in the Richmond, VA area. This position is onsite Job Description The IT Project Manager will operate as a Servant Leader and facilitator for 2-3 Agile teams, ensuring the effective implementation of Scrum and Kanban principles. The successful candidate will be a strong negotiator, have excellent logic and problem-solving skills and drive to make a difference. We need an individual that puts the team before themselves. They will be responsible for enforcing the rules of Scrum, removing impediments from their team, while promoting self-management and consistently driving a culture of continuous improvement. Responsibilities Serve as liaison between technical and non-technical departments. Communicate with other management, developers, product owners and technical support specialists on product issues. Coach the team on best practices (maintaining a healthy backlog, develop high quality user stories, estimating and delivery) Organize and facilitate project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos and other Scrum-related meetings. Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress. Maintain process documentation. Ensure the team members are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility. Assist as needed with backlog maintenance and reviewing quality of user stories. Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information. Assist with prioritization and resolution of defects / bugs. Participate proactively in developing and maintaining team working agreement, standards, and tools. Develop and manage Team performance metrics, leverage to drive efficiencies in the process. Identify and remove impediments, prevents distractions. Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution. Empower the team to self-organize. Required Skills 4 Years - Four-year college diploma or university degree in computer systems design or computer science, and/or 10 years equivalent work experience. 5 Years - Must be a Certified Scrum Master 3 Years - Scaled Agile (SAFe) experience and certification is a plus 4 Years - Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities and tasks as delegated. 4 Years - Team-player with the ability to work within a collaborative environment 4 Years - Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse personality types. 4 Years - Ability to coach the team to reach their highest potential. 4 Years - Creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems. 4 Years - Collaborative in driving decisions. 4 Years - Ability to deal with multiple projects and deadlines 4 Years - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. Desired Skills 4 Years - Scrum Master or Business Analyst experience is preferred. 4 Years - Understanding of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures 4 Years - Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle. 4 Years - Understanding of organization’s development platform and languages. 4 Years - Ability to understand technical issues. This position is available on a corp-to-corp basis or as a W2 position with competitive benefits package.
