Youngwoo & Associates is a privately held, Manhattan-based real estate development firm with a four-decade track record of innovative, design-driven New York projects, including Pier 57 on the Hudson River waterfront. The firm is now deploying institutional capital into a national development pipeline focused on powered land and data centers, the fastest-growing asset class in real estate, through a recently closed fund with Almanac Realty Investors, alongside its active New York portfolio.

We are hiring an in-house General Counsel to sit at the center of that growth. The work is transactional and first-chair: joint venture agreements, land acquisitions, development agreements, financings, and entitlements, working directly with the principals on every deal. The GC also oversees corporate and entity matters and directs outside counsel on specialty issues. Few legal seats offer this combination of deal authority and proximity to the decisions.

Qualifications

• JD from a strong law school and admission to the New York bar
• 7+ years of real estate transactional experience at a leading law firm, or in-house at a real estate owner, developer, or investment firm
• Demonstrated ability to first-chair complex transactions from term sheet through closing
• Deep experience with joint venture structures, acquisitions, and real estate finance
• Familiarity with fund structures and institutional capital partners a plus
• Commercial judgment: you know which points move economics and which points move paper
• Comfortable as the sole lawyer in the room, both internally and across the table

Compensation is structured as base salary ($275,000 to $325,000), annual bonus, and papered deal-level participation in the pipeline. As the projects deliver, so does the upside. The role is in-person in Manhattan.
