Job Title: Automation Technician Job Description

Responsible for the configuration, setup, operation, and troubleshooting of automated production equipment. This role supports production goals by minimizing downtime, maintaining equipment performance, and ensuring safety and quality standards.

• Set up and operate complex automated cable assembly production equipment.
• Monitor production processes and proactively identify issues to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to improve equipment reliability and process efficiency.
• Support equipment upgrades and implementation of new technologies.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues on automation equipment.
• Support scrap reduction, rate improvement, and cost reduction initiatives.
• Assist in developing and updating work instructions, preventive maintenance plans, and safety procedures.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and quality standards.

• Experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), HMIs, and control systems.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in a technical discipline preferred (Automation, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or similar).
• 2+ years of experience with automated or industrial equipment preferred.
• Robotics experience preferred.
• Knowledge of IPC 620, wire processing, USCAR, and IATF is preferred.

The work environment involves interacting with various automated production equipment and technologies, such as PLCs, HMIs, and control systems. The role requires collaboration with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to enhance equipment performance and efficiency. Safety and quality standards are prioritized, ensuring a secure and productive workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Akron, PA.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Akron,PA.
