What You’ll Do
The Weighing & Blending Operator supports pharmaceutical manufacturing operations by accurately weighing, dispensing, staging, and blending raw materials according to approved batch records, standard operating procedures, and production schedules. Working under established procedures and appropriate supervision, this position assists with the operation and cleaning of manufacturing equipment, completes required documentation, and maintains strict compliance with cGMP, safety, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Weigh, measure, dispense, label, and stage raw materials according to approved Master Batch Records, manufacturing instructions, and production schedules.
- Verify material identity, lot numbers, quantities, expiration or retest dates, and material status before use.
- Assist with the setup and operation of blenders, mills, sifters, scales, vacuum transfer systems, and related material-handling equipment.
- Perform assigned blending activities, in-process checks, material reconciliations, and yield calculations according to established procedures.
- Complete batch records, equipment logs, cleaning records, labels, and other production documentation accurately and in accordance with Good Documentation Practices.
- Perform equipment cleaning, disassembly, reassembly, changeovers, and line-clearance activities according to approved procedures and training.
- Promptly report material discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, process deviations, or quality concerns while maintaining a clean, safe, and inspection-ready work area.
What We’re Looking For
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training or an Associate’s degree in Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
- 0–2 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, chemical, food, or another regulated production environment.
- Entry-level candidates with strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a demonstrated willingness to learn pharmaceutical manufacturing processes are encouraged to apply.
- Previous exposure to weighing, dispensing, blending, granulation, or solid oral dosage manufacturing is preferred but not required.
- Experience completing batch records, equipment logs, or other controlled documentation is a plus.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Ability to learn and consistently apply cGMP requirements, Good Documentation Practices, SOPs, and controlled manufacturing procedures.
- Ability to follow detailed written instructions, batch records, and equipment operating procedures.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn the safe operation, cleaning, and assembly of manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to perform basic calculations involving weights, quantities, percentages, yields, and material reconciliation.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, reliability, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work around pharmaceutical powders while wearing required personal protective equipment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly bend, reach, push, pull, and lift or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
