Lead Registered Respiratory Therapist - NICU NP Nights @ Cobb Hospital

Work Shift: Night (United States of America) Responsibilities Direct and oversee daily activities of an assigned shift using independent judgment to assure successful and safe delivery of care. Facilitate onboarding and precepting under guidance of the direct lead. Serve as a clinical resource/support to staff, physicians, patients, families, and other departments by providing direct patient care, medication administration, and ensuring equipment resources and function. Assist with data collection and analysis of PI (performance improvement) activities, Customer Service, and Safety and Quality initiatives for the designated shift. Lead the shift by: Facilitating interdisciplinary communication and planning to ensure timely care delivery including discharge. Communicating with direct leader any needs or concerns pertaining to patient care delivery or employee performance. Assisting in the evaluation of staff, providing input to Supervisor regarding clinical performance, teamwork, etc. Assigning shift workload and preceptors. Maintaining financial stewardship in relation to productivity. Maintaining daily equipment function and calibration. Monitoring equipment inventory, location and utilization to ensure staff have tools and equipment needed to perform their job. Providing clinical assistance to staff as necessary. Assisting with orientation training for new employees and student clinical rotations. Communicating educational needs of staff (e.g., huddles, new equipment or knowledge in‑services). Maintaining staff education records; identifying learning needs of the workgroup and communicating needs to direct leader. Demonstrate excellence in respiratory care practice by promoting process improvement and committee participation, and by providing the highest standard of direct patient care. Participate in implementation and monitoring of PI, Customer Service, and Safety and Quality initiatives to improve patient care delivery. Round on patients to evaluate quality and appropriateness of patient care, including corrective action when needed, utilizing peer coaching and accountability. Qualifications Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (or a S. degree may be accepted). Current advanced credential with a minimum of two years clinical experience to work in all critical care areas. Experience desired in Adult ICU, CVICU, BURN, NICU, Emergency Departments (Adult and Pediatric); proficiency with pulmonary function technology, adult critical care specialist, neonatal/pediatric specialist, or asthma educator specialist preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr Wellstar Health Systems, Inc.
