Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurse position is based in a healthcare facility located in SILVERDALE, Washington. This role involves providing specialized critical care to patients with complex health conditions in a float unit, covering both ICU and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) beds. The nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including dedicated respiratory therapists and pharmacists, to deliver high-quality patient care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift with hours from 07:00 to 19:30, for a minimum of 36 hours per week, at least 6 weeks at a time. The schedule is self-managed and will be balanced and reviewed by the manager.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Washington state or Compact Nursing License; at least 2 years of ICU experience; certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Preferred Qualifications: Certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) or Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) is not required but preferred.
• Additional Information: The unit cares for patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, COPD exacerbations, COVID-19, pneumonia, and post-cardiac arrest treatments like Arctic Sun. The role involves managing titratable infusions such as ICU sedation, vasoactive medications, and paralytics. The nurse may float between floors, including the Emergency Department (ED) or Telemetry, based on unit needs. Orientation includes testing out of Epic electronic medical record system if experienced within the past year, with additional onboarding and tour days. The unit maintains a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio for ICU beds and 1:3-4 for PCU beds, with specific staffing ratios for CNA's and support staff.
• Additional Notes: The candidate should be flexible with a team-oriented approach. The facility operates a 24/7 in-house hospitalist or intensivist team and dedicated respiratory therapists. The role requires working weekends and holidays on a rotating basis, with no standby or call duties.
