Supervisory HR Specialist (Talent Retention Division Director) The mission of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is to foster strong communities by supporting access to quality, affordable housing, expanding the housing supply, and unlocking homeownership opportunities for the American people. The Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer (OCHCO) serves as the primary authority for human capital management at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). OCHCO leads department-wide human capital strategy and operations to support a mission-ready workforce through the delivery of integrated services across the full employee lifecycle. As a Supervisory HR Specialist (Talent Retention Division Director), you will: Provide executive-level direction for agency-wide talent retention programs, including Reasonable Accommodations, EAP, Flexiplace, the Student Loan Repayment Program, transit subsidies, child care subsidies, wellness programs, and retention strategies. Exercise second-level supervisory authority over subordinate supervisors and their teams. Set expectations, evaluate performance, and ensure alignment of subordinate unit activities with organizational goals. Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies governing retention and workplace support programs. Serve as a senior advisor to executives, managers, and employees on complex or sensitive issues related to accommodations, employee wellness, and workplace flexibility.
