Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced Medical Surgical RN to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting. The candidate must be adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently and collaboratively with medical teams.

Responsibilities:

• Administer patient care skills including IV therapy, wound management, and cardiac drips.
  
• Monitor and interpret EKG strips to assess patient cardiac status.
  
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
  
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and patient safety standards.
  
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and progress.
  
• Float to Medical Surgical units as needed and participate in facility orientation including CEU requirements.
  Qualifications:
  
• Possess a valid New York State Registered Nurse license.
  
• Hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  
• Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of recent Medical Surgical nursing experience.
  
• Have strong IV skills and confidence working with cardiac drips.
  
• Be able to read and interpret EKG strips effectively.
  
• Completed NIH Stroke Certification prior to start date.
