We have the opportunity for you! As an A&P Mechanic II, you will independently perform routine maintenance and inspections on aircraft. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.### Responsibilities* Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance independently.* Conduct thorough inspections and document findings.* Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.* Collaborate with senior mechanics on complex repairs.* Ensure all work adheres to FAA and company standards.* Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities.* Promote a safe working environment.Qualifications You Must Have* High school diploma or equivalent.* 1+ years of relevant experience.* Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.* Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification with no prior FAA violations.* Must pass, written, oral and practical assessments.* Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations.* Basic understanding of applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.* Must have own tools in good working order.* Pass and maintain Class 3 Physical requirements, including a hearing test.Qualification We Prefer* Associate's degree in Aviation Maintenance or related field.* Specific experience with certain aircraft models.* Problem-solving and analytical skills.* FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience.* Able to travel on a regular basis and/or work different shifts including overtime and weekends.* Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (FAR/DFARS).* Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.Essential Functions* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.* Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.* Hand and finger dexterity to work with small mechanical components and tools.* Ability to work in a noisy environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials.* Ability to travel frequently to customer locations, sometimes on short notice.* Ability to work in a combination of office and field environments.* Ability to read detailed technical manuals, schematics, and computer screens.* Ability to inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems accurately.* Ability to hear and understand spoken communication in noisy environments, such as industrial sites or construction areas.* Ability to detect auditory signals from machinery or equipment, which may indicate issues.* Ability to navigate various work environments, including climbing ladders, crawling in confined spaces, and working at heights.* Ability to drive or operate a vehicle for frequent travel to customer locations.* High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks, including repairs, installations, and maintenance.* Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols.* Strong awareness of safety protocols and ability to adhere to safety guidelines in potentially hazardous environments.* Ability to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.This posting will be open for application for a minimum of 5 days and may be extended based on business needs.Estimated Starting Salary Range: $26.39 - $36.29. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
