This position focuses on Heavy Construction (bridge work, infrastructure, plant & process) or Building Construction (school and municipal markets) and is based at either our Elgin, IL corporate office or a project site in NE Illinois. Ideal candidate Has a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field of study, or has qualifying experience Is willing to work in both a field and office setting Is computer literate and willing to work with multiple project‑management, estimating, and scheduling software systems Is an ambitious individual with the desire to advance within the Company Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities Assist Project Manager and Site Superintendent Submittal Review and Processing Request for Information Processing Requesting Change Order Information from subcontractors Drawing Documentation Processing Meeting Minutes Pre‑Construction Preparation of Scopes Other miscellaneous duties as assigned Qualifications Strong communication skills Well organized with an acute attention to detail Can adapt to fluctuations in the workload as needed Good listener and acts professionally Eager to learn and responsive to direction and feedback from supervisors Team player with a positive attitude and desire to promote a productive work environment Proficient in PM software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, HCSS HeavyBid, HCSS HeavyJob, Viewpoint Vista, P6, AutoCAD, and various client‑specific websites and portals Lives in the Chicagoland area IHC has a comprehensive program to fulfill its State & Federal requirements to provide a drug‑free work environment.
