Job Title: Quality Technician Job Description

The Level III Mechanical Quality Inspector is a senior technical and leadership role responsible for advanced inspection, GD&T interpretation, quality system compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position ensures product conformity to engineering and customer requirements while supporting and strengthening the organization’s ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS).

• Perform complex first article (FAIR), in-process, final, and receiving inspections on machined and fabricated components.
• Interpret and validate compliance to complex engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Apply advanced GD&T principles to verify form, fit, and function of precision components.
• Inspect complex geometries using advanced metrology methods including CMM and FARO programming and execution.
• Develop inspection strategies for tight tolerance and high-risk features.
• Perform and support weld inspections (AWS) and specialized inspections where applicable.
• Review and redline drawings and travelers to ensure clarity and manufacturability.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements, including monitoring and measuring resources, production and service provision, and control of nonconforming outputs.
• Lead and participate in internal audits, ensuring process adherence and identifying gaps.
• Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and root cause analysis.
• Maintain and improve inspection records, FAIR documentation, and traceability systems.
• Assist in the creation and revision of Work Instructions (WI) and Operational Method Sheets (OMS).

• Proficient in all hand measuring tools: calipers, micrometers, height gages, thread gages, bore gages.
• Strong drawing interpretation and inspection execution.
• FAIR inspection and reporting experience.
• Knowledge of RMA processes, traceability, and part marking.
• Experience with optical comparator operation and programming.
• CMM/FARO operation.
• Intermediate GD&T demonstrated skills.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems.

• Advanced GD&T demonstrated skills.
• Advanced CMM/FARO programming and inspection strategy development.
• Internal auditing experience (ISO 9001).
• Calibration and traceability ownership/support.
• Ability to redline drawings and travelers.
• Assist in creation of WI/OMS documentation.
• Experience with laser part engraving programming.
• FAIR submission and validation.
• Participation in improvement teams and quality initiatives.
• Strong computer skills for data analysis and quality systems.
• Advanced technical expertise in metrology and GD&T.
• Strong judgment and decision-making in quality acceptance.

The work environment consists of a cleanroom with positive pressure HEPA filtered conditions, adhering to International Standards Organization (ISO) certifications. Employees are expected to present a professional image in accordance with company appearance standards and comply with all gowning procedures. The manufacturing area has some noise and plastic chips, where safety glasses are recommended outside of the designated safety corridor. Hearing protection is advised near machinery, and adherence to company safety practices and procedures is mandatory. The role requires standing at the workstation for the designated shift and the ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, OR.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Tigard,OR.
