Allied Universal is Currently Hiring a Part Time Security Officer for a Retail Site in Somerville MA

Sundays 11 AM - 6 PM (With Option to Pick up More Shifts)

Starting Pay is $20.30 Per Hour / Paid Orientation / Paid Training

As a Security Office in Somerville, MA , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.30 / Hour

DayTimeSun11:00 AM - 06:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control activities, and appropriate emergency response actions.
• Respond to incidents, policy concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related issues to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including interior areas, entry points, loading areas, and perimeter spaces, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas while assisting with visitor directions, credential checks, and/or general questions in a professional manner.
• Support loss prevention and asset protection efforts by observing for suspicious behavior, reporting concerns, and following post orders related to merchandise, property, and facility access.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
