About the Role:

The 2D Laser Technician plays a critical role in the manufacturing and fabrication process by operating and maintaining 2D laser cutting machines to produce precise and high-quality components. The technician will collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to interpret technical drawings and specifications, ensuring that all parts meet stringent quality standards. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience operating 2D laser cutting machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic understanding of laser cutting technology and material properties.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD files.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical certification or vocational training in laser technology or CNC machining.
• Experience with programming laser cutting machines using industry-standard software.
• Familiarity with various metals and non-metal materials used in laser cutting.
• Knowledge of safety standards related to laser operation and manufacturing environments.
• Previous experience in a high-volume production setting.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate 2D laser cutting machines according to job specifications and production schedules.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to accurately program laser cutting paths.
• Monitor machine performance and quality of cut parts, making adjustments as necessary to maintain precision.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of laser equipment to ensure optimal functionality and longevity.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical or software issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to resolve production challenges and improve processes.
• Maintain accurate production records and report any deviations or defects to supervisors.
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and company policies during machine operation.
