Marketing and Community Manager

Network Counts is building the professional networking platform where real connections— not just contact lists — drive careers forward. We're growing our Kansas City team and looking for a Marketing and Community Manager to own how people discover Network Counts and how our community experiences it once they're in. About the Role A year from now, you'll have built a marketing engine that consistently brings new users to Network Counts and a community program that keeps them active once they're here. You'll own our content and social presence, run local Kansas City events and partnerships, and be the voice that responds when our members have questions, feedback, or something to celebrate. You'll work closely with our founders and product team, so your read on what users actually want will directly shape the roadmap. What You'll Do Own Network Counts' marketing calendar — plan and execute campaigns across social media, email, and content that drive signups and engagement Build and run our community program: welcome new members, moderate and grow groups and discussions, and turn active users into advocates; present Network Counts in meetings/ chamber of commerces/ colleges/ associations, etc Create content — posts, graphics, short video, newsletters— that reflects the brand and gets shared Plan and host local Kansas City events, meetups, and networking mixers that put Network Counts in front of the right people in person Track what's working — report on growth, engagement, and campaign performance, and adjust based on the data Respond to member questions and feedback across social and community channels, and route product feedback back to the team. Partner with local businesses, organizations, and influencers on co-marketing opportunities in the Kansas City area What We're Looking For Required 1–2 years of experience in marketing, community management, or a combination of both — startup, agency, or in-house Experience managing social media accounts and content calendars for a brand or organization. Comfortable writing — captions, emails, and posts that sound human, not corporate. Experience planning and running in-person events, meetups, or activations. Based in or willing to relocate to the Kansas City area; this is an on-site role. Genuine enjoyment of talking with people — you'd rather work a room at a meetup than avoid one. Preferred Experience marketing a networking, social, or community-driven app or platform. Familiarity with social scheduling and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Meta Business Suite) Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Express, or similar) Existing ties to the Kansas City professional or startup community. Recent graduate from K-State or KU/UMKC local universities preferred. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $40,000–$44,000/year, based on experience.
