HVAC Chiller Technician

Description Job Summary The HVAC / Chiller Technician maintains and optimizes critical climate infrastructure for our large-scale commercial cannabis cultivation facility. This role focuses on operating, troubleshooting, and repairing central plant machinery, with a heavy emphasis on Trane and York chiller systems and commercial dehumidification units. Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Manager, the technician utilizes specialized diagnosticsoftware and maintenance tracking platforms to ensure the facility consistently maintains the strict temperature,humidity, and Vapor Pressure Deficit (VPD) levels required for optimal crop yield and biosecurity. Work Schedule Standard Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Lunch Break: 1-hour unpaid lunch break daily. Availability: Occasional emergency on-call response may be required to protect crop health during criticalequipment failures. Key Responsibilities Chiller & Central Plant Operations: Monitor, troubleshoot, and service large tonnage Trane and Yorkchillers and associated pumping loops. Software-Based Diagnostics: Utilize Trane TU software to connect with equipment, diagnose systemfaults, and execute configuration changes or corrections. CMMS Tracking & Data Entry: Log all preventive maintenance, repairs, parts usage, and daily operationalparameters into the facility's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software. Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled cleanings, coil washings, sensor calibrations, and filterreplacements on industrial HVAC and dehumidification systems. Refrigerant Management: Diagnose system leaks, recover refrigerant, and charge circuits in strict compliance with EPA regulations. Water Quality Diagnostics: Test and log closed-loop chemical treatment levels to prevent scaling andcorrosion. Reporting: Provide daily operational updates and systemic health reports to the Facilities Manager. Qualifications Certification: EPA Section 608 Universal Certification is required. Experience: Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with industrial chillers (specifically Trane and Yorklines) and commercial HVAC infrastructure. Agricultural or cleanroom experience is a plus. Technical Skills: Proficiency using Trane TU (Trane Tracer TU) software or equivalent manufacturer servicetools. Experienced with digital CMMS work order platforms. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work comfortably in warm, humidcultivation environments. Background Check: Must pass all state-mandated background checks required for commercial cannabisfacility personnel. #J-18808-Ljbffr
