This Senior Electrical Engineer role provides an opportunity to lead the development and advancement of automated test systems used to evaluate complex medical device technologies. As a senior technical contributor, you will apply your expertise in electrical engineering and test automation while collaborating across functions to solve challenging problems, improve test capabilities and efficiency, and ultimately help ensure the quality and reliability of products that improve patients’ lives.

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows an onsite work model requiring employees to be in our Arden Hills, MN office 4-5 days/ week pending business needs. Your responsibilities will include:  

• Lead the design, development, and improvement of automated test systems, including hardware, software, fixtures, and instrumentation.
• Partner across engineering functions to define test strategies and verification methods for complex medical devices.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical and system-level issues through hands-on testing and data analysis.
• Drive adoption of new technologies and best practices that improve test efficiency, coverage, and reliability.
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews, problem solving, and mentoring.
• Lead the development and maintenance of test specifications, procedures, and technical documentation.

Required Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline and a minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience developing applications using National Instruments LabVIEW.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience developing automated test systems, including test hardware, software, instrumentation, or test fixtures.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and system-level issues using laboratory test equipment and data analysis.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Background developing test systems for medical devices or other highly regulated products.
• Proficiency with National Instruments hardware, including data acquisition, instrumentation, and hardware/software integration.
• Experience with additional test automation or programming tools such as Python, C#, or MATLAB.
• Hands-on electrical hardware design, test fixture development, and laboratory instrumentation skills.
• Working knowledge of design verification, test method development, and validation within a regulated product development environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical problem solving, communicate complex technical concepts, and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Previous experience with revision control systems such as Windchill, AccuRev, Jira, or Cognition Cockpit.

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
