Compensation

The base hourly rate for this position is $20.80.

Job description:

The Production Operator is responsible for communicating and supporting JM core values and delivering the JM experience. This Operator position is part of the Pay for Skills program and is part of skills progression. The employee may be placed in any of the following positions: Mixer, Winder, Vat, Mid Operator, or Palletizer. Starting pay is $20.80/hr.

Schedule:

• 8 hr. to 12 hr. shifts
• Mon.-Fri., some Saturdays
• Days - 6:45 am - 3:00 pm
• Evenings - 2:45 pm - 11:00 pm
• Nights - 10:45 pm - 7:00 am
• Must be available to work ANY shift and rotate if necessary

Your Day to Day:

• Follow all Johns Manville safety procedures and policies
• Relieve other employees as directed
• Maintain communication to ensure quality product is being made
• Maintaining daily housekeeping requirements
• Follow JSA/SOP's
• Wear proper clothing and PPE as required
• Complete all training and meetings
• Understand and use all appropriate checks and checklists
• Complete production reporting
• Other duties may vary depending on the position assignment, check with your supervisor for more details.

What You Bring to the Team:

• HS Diploma or GED required
• Must be able to accurately read a tape measure, work instruction, finished product specifications.
• Have general math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages).
• Beginner to intermediate computer skills (Microsoft office).
• Solid Communication Skills (written/verbal).
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

The physical requirements of this position are: (these requirements are typical for most of our manufacturing roles)

• The ability to stand for extended periods
• The ability to manually lift, push or pull at least 50 pounds safely and with proper body mechanics, sometimes while in awkward positions.
• Use of hands (repetitive motion, grabbing, feeling, sensing, pulling)
• The ability to work safely in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful work environment
• The ability to safely and effectively work in an often-dusty work environment that experiences a broad range of temperatures (very hot to very cold).
• The ability to withstand the rigors of working a 12(or 8)-hour rotating shift schedule.
• The ability to bend, stoop or kneel repetitively.
• The ability to reach or work above the shoulder
