Line CookFull-time, 40 hours per week; schedule to include days, weekends, holidays, and events as needed$22.00/hr.Essex, CTUpscale fine dining and casual venues in need of a Line Cook to execute a menu for our exclusive clientele.• Medical, dental, and vision insurance• Life insurance• AD&D insurance• Long-term disability insurance• 401(k) with company match• Resident sponsored educational scholarships• Generous PTO and paid holidays• Employee assistance program• Free electric vehicle charging stations• Daily Pay – Work today, get paid today• An exceptional work environment that is both engaging and funEssex Meadows is looking for a cook with a passion for creating healthy, delicious food dishes with herbs, vegetables and fresh and locally sourced ingredients.Position OverviewExemplify at all time community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and operation organization.Responsible for adhering to food quality, appearance and presentation standards at all times.Produce and serve menu cycle programs that are compliant with required Nutritional/Dietary criteria as required by local regulations and correctly prepare diets provided per Policy and Procedure.Exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency.Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of cooking preparation and production.Assist with serving of meals and ware washing as necessary.Visit residents periodically to evaluate food service such as quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance; and conduct evaluations to make revisions in operations / procedures to promote improved food service.Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner, which creates a positive marketing environment.Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual employee engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy.Qualifications• Some healthcare/hospital experience is preferred along with a positive personality and a strong work ethic.• Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write and follow oral and written instructions in English.• Ability to perform simple arithmetic and understand measurements and conversions.All new hires must be able to pass our preemployment screening process, which includes a fitness for duty physical, criminal background check, drug test and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility.
